That's so great Stephaine and I know I had filled out a lot of different job applications for other fields now because I'm not getting anywhere in my field of Human Services that I am so passionate and truly love. I wont give up because I believe in GOD too much to do such a thing!

Re: Regina

Yes, don't give up. I found out that my area has a deluge of social workers due to a local university's MSW program, so I looked outside my area, including taking a PA Civil Service Exam. (I am high on the list.) This job is an hour away from me and through AmeriCorps, so I will get a living allowance and an education award at the end. It's at an agency that serves abused children, and it will be a good "test" for me as a developing professional as I have a keen interest in child abuse work but not sure if I have the "chops" to handle it yet. And living on my own will be a great experience all in itself!

Keep chugging along and your ship will come in, even if you have to try something different like I did.

Contrats to you Stephaine and if the people like myself still unemployed give up then we given up on our selves. I will still fill out applications and network until  I gain employment again. I have  given it up to GOD he will make it work out for me he always does. Best of Luck and I hope its a job that you love and passion about!

I just wanted to post out here that I have now gotten a job, but I will be thinking of all of you still. I can empathize with the frustration, the self-conscious thinking (is it me? am I doing something wrong?), and the boredom of unemployment. But don't give up!

I just wanted to stopped by to say I been on a few job interviews but I haven't accepted any offer yet. The last one I went on was commission based and it didn't feel door to door is for me. I'm going to check out a local community center in Yonkers NY in the am I heard they have part time work available.I still would love a full time position but I think this part time job maybe a good idea? I also been volunteering as well with one of my old group homes associate with my old agency CPW of westchester. I been out of work now 10 months and counting so I'm staying focus and determined to find a new job soon. I hope everyone else who is also still looking for a job stay strong n believe me we will be back working in no time. Some company will be honored to hire us!
